MN Association of Marriage and Family Therapy

Rahwa Berhane-Kittelson, MA

Rahwa earned her undergraduate degree in child psychology & neuroscience from the University of Minnesota and her masters degree in marriage and family therapy from St. Mary's University. She has been working with individuals, families, and at-risk youth for the past 8 years. As an Eritrean-American, first generation child of refugees, she has always been interested in exploring how our life story is impacted by our life experiences. Specifically, she believes that folks are inherently resilient and creative when all that they internally possess has space to truly flourish. Rahwa deeply believes that at the root of successful therapy is a genuine relationship between the therapist and the client. She tends to view the therapeutic process through a lens of strength and resilience, compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Throughout your time together, you can expect that Rahwa will provide a nonjudgmental presence and a collaborative space where together your goals are defined and together we map out a path to get there. She looks forward to meeting you and it is an honor to walk this journey with you.
